Hello, I’m Peter Kashatus.
My interest in the Spanish-speaking world began when I spent a semester abroad as a college student in Bolivia. Aside from perfecting my Spanish-language skills, that was where I learned more about the illicit cocaine industry, and how it not only affected the United States, but the entire Western Hemisphere.
When I returned to the U.S. for my senior year at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, I focused my bachelor’s thesis on U.S. federal drug policy from the 1960’s to the 1980’s. My intense research and meticulous attention to detail led me to graduate with college honors.
I’ve since improved my Spanish-language skills through international travel, but also as a foreign language teacher in Philadelphia, where I further honed my ability to convey complex ideas clearly and accurately. This passion for precision led me to branch out into translation, specifically in the legal and law enforcement industries, driven by the critical importance of clear communication in these high-stakes environments.
